I currently have 2 12" alpine type X's and should I switch for 2 kicker 15" L7's?

I had my type X's for a little bit and they are pretty loud (spl) and I was wondering if it would be better (for spl) to trade my Type X's for a brand new set of Kicker L7's 15". Please let me know if I should do it because I am about to sell off the subs to get the kickers for same value. Don't really care much for SQ since I listen to rap. Also the amp that will push the subs is 2 PDX-1.1000's. But yeah, $400 for 2 brand new 15" L7's a good deal?

Also I will be building the box. How much cu. ft. should I build each sub if I do get it?
 
Really dont think it will make enough difference to justify a new setup and box. The type x's are very capable.

If your box is not ported, stick the X's in a ported box for more output. Theoretically the kickers would be louder having more cone area, but this is only in theory. There are many other factors, especially the sensitivity rating of the subs.
 
the kickers are LOUD AS HELL from what i remember i listened to alot a rap and the pounded so i think u should be happy with them never heard the type xs tho. never turned the amp all the way up while in the car either so that says alot hope i helped n yea thats a good price just make sure their not messed up n anyway/ i dont have any problem with kicker but my next setup will either be 2 rockford fosgate 15 p3 or 2 15 t1 is u want spl type sub
