i cooked halibut and it tastes a little bit bitter?

Never had it taste bitter before. I know the darker the flesh, the fishier it tastes though. I always try to get the whitest fillets I can find. Costco has really excellent halibut. How did you cook it? I season it, broil it on one side then slather it with fresh Parmesan and mayo mixed together- broil til golden brown and delicious
