...ever since. What can I do? My son defaulted on his responsibility of paying for his student line of credit. I've been paying the $180.00 a month since and have requested numerous times over the years that he make arrangements to pay me. Unfortunately he hasn't to date as he figures i'm his dad and will let this slide, however I won't. Our relationship has suffered tremendously over the years and I've advised him again recently that I will do whatever is legally necessary in order for him to live up to his responsibility to me. I had him sign a promissory note at the time that I co-signed the loan for him and am wondering what my legal rights are and whether I can pursue this matter in small claims court in Canada?
