I cant send or receive SMS.

I just got a new phone from a freind for free, but I can use SMS with it. (and it is nicer then my last phone so I would like to use it)

Its a Flying F698. I have AT&T.

When I send a message it fails to send. I don't receive messages either.

I set the SMS settings and Email setting SC Address's to +17057969300 and it still wont work.

uhm.. i am kind of confused with this and don't know what to do.

If you need anymore info ask.

I can take pictures of the menus if that will help.

oh i live in melbourne florida usa if that helps too.
 
Hi there, the Flying F698 will not work in the US. It operates on 900/1800 and the frequencies used in US & Canada are 850/1900. Your F698 must be showing "no service".

Actually! The one I have is tri-band and works on 1900 gsm as well. (So it does work on AT&T!) It really works great and I love it. The only problem I am having is I can't get sms messages to work. THIS IS THE ONLY PROBLEM I AM HAVING and if I could fix it this phone would be perfect.

So as I said. Can anyone help me?
 
Did you try calling CS and verify the settings with them and ensure that your account is properly provisioned for text messaging?
 
If you are using Cingular/New AT&T Mobility, the SMS Center Number is +13123149810. Where did you get that other number in your original message? Whether or not you have the correct SMS Center Number would have no effect upon whether you could receive text messages. You also have to enter the MMS Service Center address of http://mmsc.cingular.com.

That number you gave above is in Barrie, Ontario in Canada.
