I scanned in an image and saved it as a tiff file so I could edit it on photoshop and not lose any quality. Now it wont give me the option on photoshop to save as a jpeg, but it does a tiff.
Problem is I want to take it in to jessops to print but it can only be a jpeg right?
I cant rescan the photo...i just spent 4 hours editing a very old photograph

you have to export it as a jpg not save. SO just load up the image and export it to jpg then choose your compression settings and stuff and you will have your much smaller and slightly reduced image.

jessops only print jpegs, yes

i think you'll have to re scan the photo to a different format, or perhaps maybe theres software that can change file types, like there is for video

To save as a JPEG you go to..

Image > Mode

and select '8 Bits/Channel' instead of the '16 Bits/Channel' it is already on.

You then go to 'Save As' and you can save as JPEG.

(Be sure to also select 12 for highest image quality setting whilst saving).

Additional: The Jessops in Birmingham that I sometimes visit accepts TIFF files as well as JPEG.
