i can't fit into my bridesmaids dress. help?

i have gained a few pounds, and am now one dress size bigger than what i was previously and can't fit in my bridesmaids dress.
I don't want to tailor it, or ask the bride if she can exchange it because of the pressure. The wedding is in FIVE days, and I need to lose some pounds FAST!
Does anyone have any proven diets , that will assure me losing a dress size in 5 days??
