I went to the ER with stomach pains. They took xrays and said that it looked like I was constipated (even though I had previously taken Dulcolax). They gave me a saline lemon laxative and drank the entire bottle as directed. So my question is: If I was still constipated should I have some sort of solid bowel movement? I have very watery diarrhea now which makes me think that maybe I wasnt constipated after all. Please tell me what you think. I have searched on the internet but I cannont find anything.
 
X-rays can actually show a mass of stool sitting in the colon and having been there, it can be very painful if it won't move. That laxative they gave you probably broke it up and washed you out. If the pain goes away after a day or so(that's a while for the spasms from the laxative to go away)you should be fine except that you need a better diet!

Thank you for replying. I feel somewhat better but now I have stomach rumbling, that is VERY loud. I dont have diarrhea anymore but my stomach is very tender. Will the rumbling go away? How long will the tenderness be present.
