I have a problem that is bugging the crap out if me. I need to change my Nat type from strict to Open so I can Play with my friends online on Xbox Live
First off I want to mention that i have a Netgear DGN2200 Wireless-N 300 Router/Modem.
Things i have done to try and open it, all of which having no success
1) enabled UPnP on the router settings
2) set up a static ip address for my xbox and used DMZ
3) purchased this program from portforward dot com and used it to open the required ports (88 & 3074) automatically
4) Turned off the firewall on my computer(dont think it makes a difference though)
5) Did multiple hard restarts on the modem/router
6) Yelled, Screamed, and contemplated...lol
Anyway i was wondering if anyone could help me out and suggest any other tips because im fresh out of ideas and im beginning to get to the point where i believe my nat type is unchangeable no matter what i do.
ohh and by the way, I am hoping and praying that this is not the reason why my nat type cannot be opened, but i live in an apartment complex and the DSL internet is provided for free to all of the apartments through comcast. all i had to do is purchase a modem and/or router and plug it into the phone jack in the wall and it worked instantly. i dont know if that has anything to do with it but i really hope not.
