santa got the soundtrack of it for my daughter for christmas and she's been letting me belt it out all over the house for the past few days.... i'm sure my neighbours love it too cos they keep knocking in time with the music.

For some strange reason i didn't particularly like Moulin Rouge the first time i watched it

Having now watched it a few times its become one of my favourites. I would rate it even higher if i liked the ending :(

I'm a sap and always want a happy ever after :p

Absolutely hate the film sorry, just second rate am dram rubbish in my humblest opinion.
My wife made me go and see it but went mental when she caught me listening to my mp3 player about half an hour in. :o

I third/fourth whatever the drivel opinion. I really didn't rate it, disliked it mostly because I am not a huge fan of Nicole Kidman, but I think it was probably because I didn't like the soundtrack much either.

Sorry.

God I loved that movie. Got a little weak towarRAB the end IMO, but still a very creative and artistic film. Loved the music. Thought Ewan looked the best he's ever with his black hair and Nicole was radiant as always.

I loved Moulin Rouge, I have it on DVD and think it's a brilliant film. I love nearly all of the soundtrack except maybe a few songs which were good but not AS good as the rest. Nicole and Ewan are brill in this film.

I thought the first hour was fantastic but then it really started to grate. I thought about watching it again to see if maybe it grew on me, but I can't face listening to Ewan McGregor's voice again.

It really is a 'marmite' movie. I adore it. My g/f hates it. We often have similar tastes in films, but this one divides like a big concrete wall with spotlights, razor-wire and guard towers.

I love aspects of it and some of the songs but Nicole in the first half hour when she is whooping and squealing all the time is so bad she makes me want to scratch my skin off

And I don't understand why of all the sumptuous imagery the director kept repeating shots as if he was on a tight budget? the repetitive shots seem so out of place with what he is trying to do

I agree that Strictly Ballroom is a much better film- full of heart and genuine performances rather than being so over the top and melodramatic
