Hi
this is a weird one

1. I have a 8320 and my wife has a 8100 pearl on tmobile service.
2. it just started on october 2nd 2007.
3. When i am at home the phone has full bars with gprs, then GPRS signal, but for some reason the voice services are not available.
4. when i switch on WIFI for tmo at home service, i can make phone calls with my 8320, but since my wifes phone does not have wifi, she cannot
5. we popped her sim card into her old moto pebl and now she can make phone calls
6. when i drive away from home the phone picks up the EDGE service, then i can make voice calls again.

tmobile says EDGE has nothing to do with voice services.
they seem kind of clueless.

is there a setting i am missing?

what exactly are the bands or band differences between tri mode, quad mode? does that affect my ability to make voice calls?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the first line of techs can't help you ask to speak to tier 2 or tier 3 pda tech support. This is a weird problem. Only simple thing it could be is just simply tower issues around your house. Whenever in lowercase gprs or edge, I've found no guarantees in making calls, but capitalized rarely do I have issues. Nothing a battery pull doesn't cure.

You know
after making my 4th call to "611" i was able to escalate upt o tier 2. It was someone more knowledgable about BB and PDA support.

He says they sent a person out to the tower to check things out.

no solution yet, but i hope they get things right at the tower.
