...about mercury? I used the other bulbs that came in the cardboard box. I put the broken bulb in a plastic bag, put it in the trash, and took the trash outside. Could I get mercury poisoning?

no there is very little mercury in one light bulb. mercury poisoning is usually the result of eating something that has been contaminated with mercury. Usually unless you should swallow some liquid mercury there is nothing to be afraid of. If you ate(for example) spinach from a field that had been used as a dump for mercury products it would still take a lot of spinach to make you sick.... of course if you do not like spinach you might get sick just from the spinach.
