I bought a metal muff with top boost guitar effect pedal and it worked fine at first,

but then it...? Started to sound all crappy. Now today it is just silent when turned on. The LED's still light up fine so I doubt it's the battery. It bypassses through my amp no problem.
What's the problem? What can I do about it?
