now it has gotten impounded.? Ok I bought a Honda Metropolitan Scooter from a friend of mine for $800. She agreed to give me the title after I paid it off, which I did. However she still hasn't given me the title and it was impounded 2 days after I paid it off. She insists the I must pay her gas money for her to pick up the title the she says she put into storage.
It has now been in impound for about two weeks and she is just now giving me the title.
I can no longer afford to get it out of impound and she says it is not her responsibility.
Beforehand in the contract it was stated that she is now responsible for any repairs or bills after is has been paid off.
It is her fault that I can't get it! She took her time to get the title when she knew in great detail what my situation was!
Can I sue her for negligence as I can't sue her for the impound bill as per the contract.
If not what can I sue her for?
By the way, she had her brother in law's friend who is a lawyer write up the contract, somehow I feel like I was set up from the start.
I know that it is still possible to take her to court, but I need to know what I will be suing for.
It also needs to be a reason that I can win the case though..
I just took a closer look at the papers she gave me and it has the documentation, but the title itself is missing!
She had me sign a form saying that I had received the title on the date she gave me the envelope with the documentation. She said that the title was inside the envelope, but now I see that all of the official looking documents inside do not include the title.
What can I do?
