On older bikes, a charcoal cannister to catch gasoline fumes from the gas tank and carbs was the only difference between California and 49 state models. Later it sometimes included catalytic converters that were inside of the exhaust system. You might go talk to a Kawasaki dealer to find out what it takes to convert your bike over. It might not be that big of a deal.

...doesnt meet emissions? I bought the bike used, with 2500 miles from a friend who had it registered in AK. What i have read so far says that it needs a CA emissions sticker but now that the VIN is black listed i have to get it out of the state. Does anyone know what my different options are? I don't know if i'm supposed to ship it to another state to sell or if I can trade in?? Any suggestions will help!
