Alright, so i started out with a Kicker 300.2 running my comonents, and a kicker 1250.1 running 2 L7 12's in an 8 cubic foot box, vented, tuned to 30hz. All of the sudden my subs went out and the service message came up on my 1250.1. So i got rid of it and replaced it with an almost brand new Hifonics 1606d. Then after a good hour of playing it pretty hard my kicker 300.2 gave out. It still powers up, and lights up but no audio comes out. While trying to troubleshoot, i had it at about half volume with noise coming only from my subs, my Hifonics amp cut out and i smelled a burning smell coming from it. Now my Hifonics wont even power up. I've got 1/0awg power wire to my bigger amp, and 8awg power to my smaller amp. I have 10awg speaker wire to my subs and 14awg to my components. I have a Duralast 850 cold cranking amp battery, and a 200 amp alternator. Its all in the back of a 94 ford taurus. Please, any help is appretiated. I know my hofonics is toast, and i sent my kicker 1250.1 into my local car audio shop for diagnostic. I cant afford for this to happen again, and i dont want to install another amp unless i know the problem is solved.

Thank You,
-Andy
The total rms for the two subs is 1500 watts. While the kicker 1250.1 is underated at 1250 wrms at 1 ohm. While the Hifonics 1606d is rated at 1600 wrms at 1 ohm. And i have a fuse located about 8 inches from my battery.
I also have the gains set about 1/4 the way up. I know it wasnt clipping because i heard no distortion.
