I ate some sausage rolls that are a month past their sell by date is that bad?

I ate about 5 of them and they have been in the fridge covers by some of that plastic stuff you put over opened food. From what I could smell they smelled fine, I ate then whilst they were cold. Looking at them I can see some very small specs of black/green like 1/4 - 1/2 the size of pepper corn. What do you think could come of this?
ill meaning a bit sick?
