I am writing about arranged marriage...?

I have an assignment to write about a controversial issue, and I want to write about arranged marriage. But I need some inspiration. What would be a good thesis and how would you back it up? What is your opinion on arranged marriage and forced marriage?
Do you think this will be a difficult topic to discuss?
I am thinking about writing about how arranged marriage can lead to forced marriage, and the reason forced marriage has been tolerated for so long in the western world is because the government confuses it arranged marriage, and passes it off as "a cultural thing." The only problem is I am not sure if I can write enough about that and I am not totally against arranged marriage.
 
You're not against arranged marriage? If your parents told you tomorrow you were marrying ME, you wouldn't at least raise an eyebrow?

Every human being deserves the dignity to choose who they spend their life with.
