I am working as a PHP developer.But I want to go further into web development...but i m clueless...most pioneer companies like capgemini,etc. do not deal in php...what should i do to take my career further into open source? Plz advice its urgent...I have an experience of 1.8 yrs.
 
Open source? then definitely Java EE ! Java EE is an open framework by Sun Microsystems for delivering high end enterprise applications. Also, it's far more advanced than PHP and it has it's respect in the software market.

But Java is not easy and require some studying. But trust me, it will pay.

I am a ASP.NET web developer and I am extremely happy with it because I can do with ASP.NET what anyone can do with Java EE. Specially after the introduction of ASP.NET MVC. But I suggested Java EE because you wanted Free Source :)

Oh, by the way .. PLEASE, don't waste your time learning stuff that no one knows about ! or that is not really that HOT in the commercial market !
