Hello,

I'm trying to build up my credit so I can buy my Car w/ my own responsibility. last time I tried to get a car they told me I will need a cosigner since I'm a first time buyer, and my credit isn't high enough. I was told its not that I have Bad Credit, just not in the required number to be approved for a car. I'm here to explain what my plans have been so far as to building my credit and I would like to see the Opinions, suggestions, tips and approvals of others.

August 2009: the first thing i did was leave my bank, and joined a Credit Union, (NFCU)
I got a Credit card from them (Limit $1000) I use this card to pay my monthly Bills.
the exact amount I spend on the card, I place in my Savings account. at the end of the month, I pay off the card leaving a balance of $100 transfered from my savings to the card

August 2009: I Purchased an item from USA Discounters (they limited me to $1000) the Item got was total of $550 after all the charges and intrest. Its in a 9 month payment plan.

Before this, I got a Military Credit Card known as the STAR CARD. My limit at this moment on this is $4,700.00. I have $2,243.79 as a balance. leaving $2,456.21 as available Credit. This is the longest running Credit card I got. since 2005.

I was informed I should have my Credit Debt below %50 of the max Credit Limit. So I hope this part is working well.

the last Item I have is a $300 loan from my Bank which i started in November 2009. 9 month open contract. so if i wanted to, i can pay it in 7 months, since i was informed that they wont report to the credit places until after 6 months.

I don't know if this helps. I have an account w/ Sprint w/ their Cell phone I pay about $170/mo. for 3 phone lines, also pay for car insurance of about $35/month. I don't know if these show responsibility on helping build my credit.

I don't know my credit score at this time. but hopefully all these help me in numbers by July of 2010 so i can have my car then. my income at this time is $1300/mo. I'm in the reserves at this time, but I'm planning on Going active service which will increase my income est $1,800- $2,400/mo (I was active before).

Sorry this was allot. I hope someone will provide with some answers, advice, or anything else that will help me on my journey to achive my goal to gain my new car!
