I am thinking of getting a new Mazda 2. Should I buy a cheaper used car instead?

I drove one, it seems fun. I drove a Nissan Versa HB and was bored within 20 seconds. I can get
one with $500 off MSRP plus 0% financing for 60 months. The cost is 14,975 - 500 = 14,475.
And then no interest for 5 years. My bank also approved a $12,000 loan which I was going to use to buy a used car until I starting thinking about the new Mazda 2. What do you think I should do?
I think it is highly unusual to save $5000 on a used car with only 5000 miles on it that is the same year as a new car. It's closer to 1000 or 1500 savings in my opinion.

When you buy a new car you loose about 20% of the value of the car the second you sing the papers-you do not even have to drive it off the lot before the value goes down.

I have bought cars in the past that were the same age as the new model year and have less than 5,000 miles on them. and I saved an average of $5,000. All i really gave up was the new-car-smell and a lot of ego. I liked my money more!
