I am building a raised vegetable garden and am unsure what needs to be done as far as soil, compost, fert etc. Am I supposed to put a layer of compost down first then put down the top soil? Also what kind of compost? I saw a mushroom compost at home depot, will that work. Any help is greatly appreciated. As you can see, I am a little new at this.
