help? I am trying to hook up a stereo to my school bus I drive. I have the black ground wire hooked up, the speaker wires are hooked up too. Now what I am having trouble with is the red and yellow wires. I have the red wire hooked up but the yellow wire I dont have it connected to anything because I was told it was just to hold any memory type functions in my stereo and it didnt need to be hooked up. Is that true? or do both the red and yellow need to be hooked up? Can they be hooked up together? I am not getting any power to the radio with only having the red wire hooked up. Help please :)

On an after-market deck, you need power on both the yellow and the red wires. Some factory radios don't need the "memory" connection to work, but after-market radios use that wire for the main power. You can probably connect it to the same power wire as the red wire. If that wire loses power when you turn the key off, then your new stereo won't keep any station or clock settings; if the power wire doesn't lose power with the key, then the new player will stay on when the key is off unless you switch it off manually.
