;788999']It's fixed, but only temporarily. When I called, they said that they were "adressing the situation".

The president adresses our nation on a constant basis, and that isn't fixing anything. DOING something is a lot different from adressing it.

I guess I may just have to get online and find my congressman's military advisor.

Well, this has been a topic of discussion between me and my little circle of in state IRL friends for a while now... the bad treatment of our troops. I don't know what the hell I can do over there from here. Except maybe help you out a little... how much exactly does an air conditioner cost out there?

A little off topic but... can I come live with you? ;)

;789922']I'm not really out there, I'm stateside- so there's no excuse. Basically, if you want to hear the truth:

Most troops feel kinda weird when you give us stuff. We get care packages from our families, and that's cool. The best thing you can do for a GI if you meet one is say, "thanks, dude."

To which I always respond, "I do it for guys like you, man".

An old man (like ancient) once told me thanks, and he held my arm and pointed to a flag. He said, "for that". I walked away and cried about it, because it meant so much.

I understand that it's not your responsibility to fix the A/C, but since your next door neighbor knows what is needed, can't you just go buy the part and have him/her install it? When/if the contractors finally show up (after months of "adressing the situation"), you can always act unaware of how the doggone thing magically got repaired. Or take the new part out before they show up.

Oh, and Hostile... thanks, dude.

;790505']Nah, he can see it, but you have to get past the large padlock thing to get in there. If we touch it, it's our ass.

And don't thank me. I appreciate it, but there are other guys going through worse shit than busted A/C. Thank Danni when she gets back.
