...middle name.? He is in Iraq and has been for most of the pregnancy. This is my first and hopefully only child and he has had two children in the past and given them up for adoption. he gave them both up when the youngest was born, and they had the older child for over a year. I heard it was because he wasn't done partying and he named them both. I want to name my baby whatever I want because it is my FIRST. He just doesn't understand, he is getting really upset that I won't name the middle name after him, but I want my child to have his own name and I don't like Alexander. What should I do?
 
Tell him its your child, so you are going to name it whatever you want to. Also, maybe you could compromise? How about Alex? Or maybe you could let him pick another middle name? Tell him you want your child to have his own name and his own identity.
 
send him to fetch you some pizza while you fill out the birth certificate....

i find it interesting you think he's such a winner, but made a baby with him...
 
I think it's only a middle name, which no one ever uses unless there's two kids in the class with the same name, so it's not a huge deal, and it's a tribute to his father, which would be nice. But I wouldn't do it. He's more than likey going to be nothing to this child, I wouldn't burden him with the name
