I'm 24 years old and I have insulin resistance. I a 5'4 and weigh only 84 pounds. I am in NO way shape or form happy about this at all. So please don't leave comments about how I need to gain weight, because I already know that. Thanks. It just sucks because everything I eat, it makes my blood sugar go up, and I burn protein and and I lose weight. I also have no medical insurance, or else I'd be at the doctor. I watch what I eat, and because I do not have insurance, I can't eat the things my body needs (like a good amount of carbohydrates) because when I do my sugar goes up and I get keytones so I lose weight. I have probably lost a total of 40 pounds in the past 4 months. I eat what I can to gain weight, but it doesn't help. Doesn't help at all that I look anorexic and I wish I didn't look like that. It scares me, I feel like I am going to die or fall apart. I have anemia brought on by lack of substances. Has anyone else experience losing weight due to diabetes and burning protein?? It is very frustrating.
Also, my family has type 2 diabetes and I had gestational diabetes, so I am pretty sure I will need medicine and eventually have full blown diabetes. I have anxiety issues and it doesn't help with every little thing I eat, having an anxiety attack about whether my blood sugar will go up or not :( any one that can help with relating or sharing their experiences will be greatly appreciated, thank you!
