I am opening a wall to my home to make my kitchen and lounge room into one room. My kitchen is really big about 6m x 8m and my lounge room is about 6m x 5m. How big should my wall be cut out for this room.

Please help.

Cheers.

wolfies right if you start tearing down walls you better know what you are doing or all heck could fall through.and if that happens your insurance will probly deny your money to replace it if you did not get a contractor on it.i would ask an exsperianced carpenter or inspector

Speaking as someone who's just done that : ) I wanted that nice square arch look, to I left 70cm on either side and from the roof. The measurement was taken from the edge of an existing doorway. DEFINATELY get a builder to put a support beam across if it is a supporting wall. It really depends on the look you want, oh, and your budget lol
