I am new to the whole Creation-Evolution "debate"....?

I am new to the Creation-Evolution "debate" (if you chose to call it a debate).
I don't really believe in God, so the idea of Creationism didn't even cross my mind. However, I was recently listening to some creationist arguments and I was shocked at how many bald faced lies they told to support Creationism.
For example, where I work there happens to be many Evangelical Christians. They often try to tell me about amazing scientific discoveries that support Creationism, such as the missing day or that Charles Darwin recanted his theory on his death bed. I looked up some of these lies and I found that even "Answers in Genesis" does not support using those arguments. It seems to be that creationist believe whatever they are told, so long as it supports creationism.
And it's really funny how they intentionally misquote scientists to make it appear as if though they supported creationism.

Can anyone tell me some lies and stories to watch out for when debating a Creationist that may seem credible to the unaided eye, but are in fact lies?

The best advice I can give you is to stop now. Run, while you still have your sanity intact. Go! Be free!

1.Creationists say that there is micro-evolution (Different traits being adapted within a "kind" of organism) and macro-evolution (A species eventually evolving into a new type of creature.) They say micro-evolution is true but not macro-evolution.
2. Creationists dismiss transitional fossils as being "fully-formed formed creatures" and say that transitional fossils are supposed to be chimeras.
3. Creationists say that evolution specifically addresses the origin of life.
4. They say that naturalistic origins necessarily compromise both purpose and morality.
5. Claim that evolution/origins of life violate the 2nd law of thermodynamics.
6. Young Earth Creationists think that the world is only a few thousand years old and that radiocarbon dating is wrong. They may also think that prehistoric creatures were alive recently and may even believe that they are still hiding somewhere.
7. They say that it is only a theory and so it is only a guess and not a fact.
8. They say that evolution is a completely random process even though natural selection actually plays a big role in it.
9. They say that mutations do not add information and that they are never helpful.
