I am moving to Toronto, as a marijuana smoker, should I worry about drug testing

during employee interviewing? I work in advertising and graphic design, and I know that in te USA and on TV shows they do that 'random drug test' sort of thing during the jog screening process. But does that happen in Canada? I have no clue. I am small town but just graduated, so where else can I go here in Canada.

And that's my only vice, I don't smoke cigarettes or do any other drugs other than the occassional joint, I am not even a drinker really. I mean pot isn't 100% legal here in Canada, it's close in many cases. So I don't know how that is reflected.

Random drug testing is becoming more and more required with any company. In some cases it has to do with the insurance the company purchased, in other cases it is just the environment the company wants.

Although we all have our personal beliefs on if it should be legal or not, it is still an illegal drug therefore if you are looking for a job your best bet is to quit so when you do interview and get a job offer you are clean.

It is also important to note that when you are offered a job you typically have 24-48 hours to get to a drug testing center- giving you little chance to "clean the system out" and if the test is positive your offer is terminated.

Stop smoking for now and see what happens.
