i am looking for somebody that can tell me in detail how to change an altinator belt...

...on a 1995 mazda protege? the car is a 1995 mazda protege 1.5 litter. i got the altinator loosened up but the belt that wraps around the crank and airconditioner i can't figure out how to get it loosened so i can the alt belt on cause the crank pully takes the air conds belt and the alts belt anybody please . info in detail would be appriciated .

There is a very long bolt that, when loosened, will allow you to move the Alternator from side to side, or back and forth, whichever way you want to say it.
You loosen the bolt, then slide/push the alternator to the other end of the slot, this will allow you to remove the belt.

your best bet would be to go to somewhere like auto zone or pep boys ot one of your local parts stores. they sell books that is made for your year of car. that will tell you what to do in what order to get the belt off and get a new one on. it is easier to read it and see the pictures than to have someone try to explain it.
