I am looking for my first car, would a 1999 Jeep Wrangler Sport be good?

my first car was a 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sport 4.0L. It has 86K miles on it and runs amazingly. it is a 6 cylinder. The 6 Cylinder Jeeps are much better than the 4 cylinder models. since wranglers are fairly heavy, the 4 cylinder has to work much harder than the 6 cyl. because of this, the 6cyl gets better mpg most of the time, especially if you put larger tires on it, or other heavy modifications. The Inline 6 engine is one of the best engines made for the wranglers. It is extremely reliable.
Jeep Wranglers are extremely tough and reliable. They are fun in the summer because you can take the top off and the doors off. it gives you an amazing sense of freedom. In the winter, they are great because of their 4WD. The 4WD system in the Jeep Wrangler is very tough. the only bad thing about driving in the winter is no ABS in some models. I have never had a problem with that and it really shouldnt make much of a difference.
Yes jeeps are bad with mpg, but alot of suvs are. i get 15-18 and i do some light mudding every now and then and not much highway driving. if i drove longer distances on the highway, i could easily get 20 mpg. You will hear people talk about how "jeeps roll over all the time" and "they arent balanced at all". Dont listen to them. I have never felt like i was ever going to roll mine and i am a spirited driver. if you drive normally and safe, you should be fine. its a jeep, not a lamborghini.
Wranglers are also easy to fix if you happen to break something and you are a do-it-yourself kind of person. I have broken part of the suspenison ($20 part and i broke it because i was not being very smart while offroading and went somewhere where i knew i shouldn't've gone) and i was able to buy a replacement part and fix it myself in under an hour. wranglers are very well built vehicles.
I say it is a perfect first car. It is very tough, very reliable, and they are extremely fun!

There is nothing better than a jeep off road or in the snow. I would look more towards a more solid car like the grand cherokee. Reason being it is not the most stable car for a first time driver. I know when i was first able to drive i asked my parents for a jeep but they felt because of the removable doors and such it was not the most stable car so now i am stuck driving a Mercedes Gl. I would try to get a grand cherokee but if your cant the wrangler would be a fun car. Make sure you dont pay toom much though.

goods- cheap price i'm guessing
bads- jeeps waste a lot of gas to much miles try getting a 4cyl. car with under 50,000 miles.
