I am looking for a small SUV approximately $30,000. Wanted a Jeep Cherokee, but mileage

is horrible. Help me! So, I want a car that looks similar to a jeep. I drove a jeep, and it was awesome, but like I said, mpg was atrocious. want a car that is easy to drive, meaning it accelerates good, manuevers well, and I can see all around the vehicle while driving. The Nissan Murano isn't as good with the all around vision as the consumers say. I like the Lexus SUV, but not the price. I used to own a Neon SXT, and I love it, but I outgrew it. I want the vehicle about the same size as a cherokee. Can anyone help me?
My boyfriend drives a nissan 350z... He loves imports, so I am leaning to an import because he despises American cars.
Also, tell me why the car is good, eg. good mileage, low maintainence, safe, etc...
