I am looking for a good free online game to play with friends all over the world?

I am into fantasy games, such as Final fantasy, Fable and Oblivion.
I have had a look at Darksword and some others.
Anyone have any recommendations for me to try. I don't want to spend hours reading complicated guides or downloading masses of stuff
Its needs to be an RPG in which I can talk and interact with other people.
