Go for the regular Escape because you get more horse power and it's better for getting through the mountains. The Ford Escape gets great mileage even without being a hybrid, so no worries about harming the environment much with the regular Escape. The Escape really is a great car. It got great reviews, everybody I know who has one loves it to death, and it's got very high quality.

To start, the ford escape hybrid is not much for towing or getting through the snow. Its has about 130 horsepower. While the Ford Escape can tow up to 3,500 Ibs and has roughly 240 horsepower. All while getting 22 to 28 mpg. That's pretty good. But the Hybrid gets 31 to 34. Not enough of a difference for me if I was in the snow. I would suggest the Non hybrid version. A hell of allot cheaper too.

Mountainous CO, so which one is better? I am also all about going green, but I don't know how the Ford Escape Hybrid will do going up mountain passes.
