And I think I'm right in saying that the 12 rating given to Mrs Doubtfire caused something of a stir and it was down-rated to PG for its video release.

Not sure about that though, and can't be bothered to check up on it!

We use the word "got".

BTW: I enjoyed the film, though would have been better if it more reflected the book.
 
But esentially this is exactly what happens!

Saw the film last night, very much enjoyed it. Very well acted by Will and the film did have me jumping out of my seat at scary bits. Havent read the book but really enjoyed the film.
 
Yes but for many centuries we used the word 'gotten' too. It's a fallacy that 'gotten' is an Americanisation.

It is in fact a perfectly correct term in English grammar which for some reason fell out of favour over here around 300 years ago.

The colonists in America were not affected by this odd grammar change and so carried on using it. It is properly old English it's just we have forgotten it.

I have just finished watching the film and I must say it was completely pants. How do I get 1 hour 30 minutes of my life back? :cry:

* Plotholes galore
* Nintendo 64 monsters
* So many cliches
* Sheer frenzy of product placements
* The film was far too short
* Over the top CGI
* Poor man's 28 Days Later

I saw it at the weekend. I really enjoyed it and came so close to bawling my eyes out. I really had to fight it.

Sheesh, it's always the dogs that get me in the movies! :o

And yes...i am a man. :)
 
omg thank heavens!! someone who doesn't like this film...i thought i was the only person on this planet who thought this film was absolute tosh!!..a complete waste of money

So the monsters found him in the end, because the chick took him back to his place when it was still night. Right?

So how exactly did he get Sam home so quick when she was injured after sundown.

And i'm going to add another disappointment on my part.
Like Ravster said, I also thought, damn creepy when the monsters moved the mannequin into the streets, but why wasn't this seen as significant? Neville said near the start that the creatures had reverted to base levels. What kind of base level being could set up something so elaborate! Surely this should have made him think otherwise about his findings.

I was being ironic, but besides that, meat isn't fit for eating after 3 months of being frozen. I suppose, being a man, Will would not have known this.
 
Sorry, yes, I should have made myself a bit clearer really!!

I meant to say it would have been more powerful and tragic if he'd found the cure and then been killed along with the other two characters (or ideally, for those characters to never have existed in the first place) so that it was never implemented.
 
The American audience would never have stood for that kind of ending but it would have been a little closer to the true ending of the source novel. If only one of the minor more risk taking studios or production companies had gotten their hanRAB on this work we might have seen an honest adaptation of the book, as it was we were treated to a popcorn movie which was as forgettable as it was dull. Shame!:(
