Also the cure takes time to work. It didn't work straightaway on the female, but after a couple of days, and at the time of Sam being turned, Neville didn't know that, so he thought killing her before she fully turned evil was the best thing to do.

that's very true and I don't see much but action in a Legend sequel to be honest, Will or not. I think maybe Neville's memory could be a philosophical reminder almost..

I guess Samantha needed more than one shot to cure her and he just didn't want to subject her to all that and see her go evil in the meantime.

I really enjoyed it, and bawl like a baby over Samantha and shortly after when he asked the mannequin to say hello.

I enjoyed reading the novel after watching the movie, too. :)

OMG that was the saddest thing i have ever seen!! It was hurting so much wen i was crying!! How much did you feel for him in that scene ey!! Poor lil Samantha she was such a cute lil doggy!!

I dont get it but! why did the cure save the stupid chick n not the cute lil Sam that was one thing that I was super upset about!!

I thought it was just about right actually. I didn't think it needed to be any longer, what they had stood perfect for me.

Just got back from the cinema, great film. It was alot better than i expected and Will Smith did some fine acting. I did think however they'd be alot more music as there would be so little dialogue. However i think they managed it well and the presence of Will Smith on screen was enough.

Did anyone else think it was really short though? The trailers made it look epic, yet it was only on 100 mins. It was still brilliant though.

I fully agree.

Plus, for a sequel to work the same philosophical tone has to exists. It can't be all action, like most sequels tend to be.

Everyone I ask just laughs at me! They really screwed up on their portrayal!

 maybe the urge to shut your friend up? I cry silently and hide it so no one knows..

My friend was looking at me throughout that whole sequence. He knows I cry at everything so he just kept looking at me and smiling, waiting for it. Heh. I don't know HOW I did it, but I held back the tears. lol

I personally don't trust Hollywood but I could see a sequel being made probably focusing on the continual of the survivors and maybe trying to destroy/overcome more of those monsters? General ideas like those help..and maybe plugging in another talented famous actor could help. Otherwise, I don't see it working.

Good article, Sasha! Thanks for posting. I found it very interesting.

I see Will's point of view, but there are concepts that could work for a sequel. It depends on choosing the right one and then writing the hell out of it. But then the question is, do you trust Hollywood?

I watched this on Christmas Day and wow. Will Smith was amaaaazing. There's not many people I can think of would be able to pull off a movie like this, but he was fantastic.

...I felt for Sam, too. :(

^ I agree with everything you just said! They are nothing like vampires at all. He (the writer) has to know that he didn't portray them as vampires in the movie?
