I am Legend - alternate ending on DVD-

Has anybody seen the alternate ending on the DVD of "I am Legend"

Now i have seen the film at the cinema but don't fancy sitting through it again to see the alt ending(unless it sounRAB great), so if someone could just tell me what happens it will save me time. Cheers...
 
The alternative ending is garbage. A sad ending works best for a story (or movie) such as this.



I agree. I haven't read the book in years but the movie was just a complete disappointment. And amazingly, for a big budget movie that has Will Smith in the lead, the special effects were awful! :eek:
 
In the context of the story up on screen it worked better than the standard Hollywood pyrotechnics cinema ending.

That truly was a cliche.
 
The alternate ending is more poignant showing the humanity within the Dark Seekers. The original end is more in keeping with the dark nature of the story and makes Neville more heroic. He gives his life so the woman and child can surivive and take the antidote to the settlement. I would have chosen the first ending as the climax of the movie.
 
I thought the film was good up to the point when the woman and her son came into it, then it appeared to just go back into that hollywood cliche for me.

And I agree with the fact the book is much better. Shame really, because it did seem to be going along those lines.

Won't be buying the DVD, so will never see the alt ending!
