Human feces contain high levels of heavy metals. When used as fertilizer, it concentrates the heavy metals in the food chain. Heavy metal poisoning results in short statures, central nervous system damage affecting hearing and eye sight, organ failure, and a myriad of other serious affects.
 
Mmmmm vagetarian compost pile. That would grow mighty fine roses.
 
no.... reason being.... you cannot set up a compost heap that is large enuff to handle the composting of human waste.... especially if you're going to add to it daily... what you'd end up with is simply a pile of cesspool contents ..... you'd add water and stir this mess?.... how?....the pile wouldn't make the temperatures needed to make suitable compost without the water and stirring and the addition of REGULAR compost ingredients....

I don't know what the deal is with folks wanting to crap in the garden... there's just nothing I can think of that is more icky.... how would you tell folks your 'secret' for big tomatoes that they're now eating at your table????.... fer sure I'd barf on my plate!!.....

civilized society has had another way to dispose of sewage since the time of the Romans... why go backwards now?.... but, hey, if you want to have an outhouse in the back yard, at least dig the pit and put up the little building with the crescent moon on the door so folks know where the smell is coming from!.....
