I am in the california national guard, can i switch to active duty army?

Im 18 and I just came back from my traning and am in san diego, I have heard that there is this policy called direct transfer, in which it will switch me to active duty army,Is this true and can you give me som additional information if you have some. thanks
 
It is possible, but I do believe you have to wait 6 months since you just got back from training. I have tried to go Active Duty twice, but they deployed my ass both times! So be careful while trying to go Active Duty. It also depends on The State of California since it is State funded and not Federal Funded. I am in the Army Reserves myself.
