I am in between cultures. It hurts. What should I choose or do?

I am bi-cultural. I am East Indian-American. I am 28. I attended predominantly caucasian institutions and work places. I feel a hole in my heart. I want to connect with the East-Indian- American community but it is very conservative here in my state VA. As in temple (Hindu) is the only place to go. If you want a husband your future mother in law may consider giving her son's phone number to you.

Problem is with every other friendship I have had with just "Americans" goes well until the problem of my heritage comes up. If I hide and deny my East Indian heritage then it's all good. Problem is I don't feel like doing that anymore. I also want a connection to my community with other bi-cultural people.

Bi-cultural- You are born and raised in the United States: Your family, parents or grandparents from another country. So you have two cultural influences.

I feel stuck.
