...advice on how to fix it? I have just recently rented a buffet festival clarinet from the school. When I went to play on it, I noticed that the left F#/C# key's sound didn't come out 100% of the time. I've cleaned my instrument to see if that was the problem, but this issue still occured. Does anyone have any advice that I can do to fix this problem on my own?
 
it could either be a pad or a spring, bring it to your band teacher, and see if they can fix it, if they can't since it is a school instrument, the school should be responsible for fixing it.
