korean culture and food.? i am full korean, but i grew up in the US. my parents dropped me off in korea when i was 1 years old, for 3 years..cause i dont know....parents tell me excuses but not the truth..they say mom was too sick to raise me during that time..well, i have an older sister and seemed like mom wasnt too sick to raise her in the us.
anyways, my thing is that i been better off with american food, american culture over korean culture and just about every korean food. i cannot eat korean spicy foods amd fermented foods, soups, jjiagae, cause my body doesnt accept those kinds of foods..especially spicy foods..my mouth and tongue gets numb and i feel dizzy eating kimchi jigae, kimchi and any other kinds of spicy foods like kimchi.

Haha I'm Korean and was born in the US...I'm basically a full American who eats Korean food for dinner only every night. It's perfectly fine what you're going through...it's not like there's anything wrong with it. I personally love Korean food though...I think it's Korea's greatest contribution to the world! haha
Don't be so concerned about liking American food more...no biggie, really.

then don't; eat what your body is used to and what it has adapted to. try to encorperate Korean fare into your diet, starting with the kind that isnt overly spiced or that would make your stomach say"ive never had this, it cant be good". your body will learn, and if you find a korean food you like, all the better,

That's perfectly understandable, you grew up in American culture and enjoy American foods. It is not surprising that you find authentic Korean food too spicy, you're not used to it. I understand that you want to embrace your culture, but you may have to stay away from the spiciest foods and build up a tolerance. Just take it slowly, you can't change your taste buds over night if you truly are set on enjoying Korean cuisine.

do you have a dog? if so, just give him/her/it the food when ur family isn't looking. problem solved!!!!
