I got this shitty ass cold with this runny nose and crazy congestion with some nasty mucus shit coming out out of my throat and it HURTS SO BAD and I can't take a damn thing for it because I'm fucking pregnant.

I was up all night coughing, and sneezing, and tossing and turning so that the snot in my nose would clear, (I can't get myself to breath out of my mouth) and I've been eating halls like they're friggin candy.

Aww... :( Hope you feel better soon, hun. No one likes being sick, and I bet it's really tough being sick while being preggers. Maybe you should go to a doctor, see if there's anything they can suggest to make it a bit easier?
 
Make a honey and lemon drink. Then put some lemon juice in a mug and add boiling water, then a couple of teaspoons of honey to dissolve.

Eucalyptus oil - a couple of drops in a large bowl of boiling water, towel over your head and steam the cold out!

For the throught - gargle with salt and warm water, its ewww but it works
 
The salt water trick will really help your sore throat too. I had to do it when I had Mono, it sucked ass, but at least I could eat afterwords. Another thing I like when I feel like that is really hot coco. Something about the chocolate is comforting, and the hot liquid helps break up the build up of crap in your throat.

I agree with lady's lemon solution. I used to do that and it does work. The saltwater thing, I didn't like that much, but it worked fo sorethroats.

Also, don't know if you have done it or not. But takes some Vicks (spelling?) and put it in a smapp pot of boiling water. Put a towl over the pot and your head so the vapors don't easily escape, and just breath that in.
 
Yesterday, I was talking with Val about being sick as an adult.

It's funny, because when you're a KID, being sick is like a vacation. You don't have to go to school, and your mother's coddling makes you feel better.

As an adult, it fucking sucks because you have to (or can't) miss work (and money). Your mother isn't there for the motherly coddling. You have shit to do and can't get around it.

Fuck being sick. I feel your pain.
 
Yeah and it's funny because they say, get better, call in to work if you're contagious to stop the spread of these kind of germs, but if you do, you get canned, or written up.

Being sick when you're pregnant is awful. I got one of those 24 hour (that actually laster 4 days) puke/shit your brains out viruses when I was 3 months along and I never felt worse in my whole life.
 
oh man, fuck that noise. I think I would have taken something if that were the case. having the flu while pregnant can give major birth defects, taking flu medicine while pregnant isn't as harmful as waiting it out.
