I am failing out of college and this is my forth going on fifth year. What should I do?

I am a junior/senior Print Journalism Major in a 4-year private university. I talked to my advisor (who I don't have a relationship with) and she told me to drop out because my GPA has been declining for the past 6 semesters. My transcript will follow me for the rest of my life....should I quit now? if so what will I do? Should I tough it out and pull myself together? if so how, and what will I do about my transcript?
