I am buying a Harley Davidson but the title says FDX for model what does this mean?

B (BLACKED OUT ie street bob, night train, and crossbones models), C (Classic or Custom), CW (Custom Wide (2008 Soft tail Rocker)) D (Dyna chasis or Soft Tail Duece), E (Electric start), F (Fat Boy (1990–present); Fat Bob (2008–present) or Foot-shift (1972 and prior)), H (HANDLE BAR/ FRONT END MOUNTED FAIRING. ie bat wing fairing/quick release windsheild.), I (Fuel injection), L ((16" FRONT WHEEL WITH FLOOR BOARDS until 2009 where the 16" is found only on FLHTCU and FLHRC models, all other 2009 models have 17" front wheels),and Low Rider)), N {(Nostalgia as in Soft Tail Deluxe) and Nightster in Sportster family} P (Police), R (Race, Road King, or Rubber-mount), S (Sport, Springer, or Standard), ST (Softail), T (FRAME MOUNTED FAIRING), WG (Wide Glide), SE (Screamin’ Eagle), U (Ultra) X ((19'-21' FRONT WHEEL NO FLOORBOARDS. except 2008 FXDF which has a 16" front wheel and no floor boards), sport in Dyna Models, and street glide in Touring Models.) XT (sport touring Dyna Model).

I believe the model you are buying is an FXDX. The FX designation is for the Super Glide line or style that began in the early 70's. There was the FXE which was the first Super Glide and then the FXFB Super Glide Fat Bob came later. The D stands for the Dyna Glide frame/style. I can't honestly tell you what the last X stands for. It's possible the DMV has shortened FXDX to FDX just for streamlining purposes. Great bike I want one. Have fun, be careful
