Seriously.

Ok...
Situation is this;
I have a Nokia 6230 which has served me pretty well over the past 2 years, although its faults have always been obvious. However, one aspect in particular has annoyed me, and that's the limited capacity of the phone in storing SMS messages. There is no logical reason why it only holds 150, but that's its limit.
Anyway, I am looking to upgrade to a new model entirely, and I need you good folk to give me advice, because I am at the end of my tether with frustration. Shopping for mobiles can be so stressful; one minute you think you've found a gem, then you find a problem.
Anyway, I am looking for some overall advice with regards the following, and would appreciate heads up.
First of all I would prefer a candybar format - silver or black. Unkeen on the sliders and hate clamshells.
Secondly my budget is no more than about ?150. And that's pushing it.
Thirdly, the SMS capacity has to be extremely high - I have looked around and only found Nokia's new (Expensive) line of phones to be flexible in this way. Unfortunately none are on my Virgin network and are completely unlockable. Sony Ericsson, Samsung - both limited to about 200 maximum. If anyone can enlighten me as to what phone of around my budget could satisfy capacity for 1000+ I'd appreciate that.
Fourthly, would only a Nokia phone be able to transfer the data (backed up on my PC) from my 6230 onto it?
Also, I am on PAYG sim, and would prefer to buy from a retailer and not a private seller like Amazon Marketplace.
Also need the usual mod-cons like MP3, camera, GPRS (For web), video etc etc.
Thanks guys - and apologies to those who have answered my previous posts on this forum about this; I am desperately trying to hunt down the right phone.
Cheers.
