Hey everybody,

I have had this slight "tightness" in my lungs for about 3 months, maybe more. Its subtle effects do not haunt me consistently through the day but is more sporadic and has no identifiable "triggers" that set it off. Also to note, I have been able to pull up small amounts of clear congestion throughout the day for as long as I have had the lung tightness.

Secondly, I have had dull chest pain that has accompanied me for about a year now(post electric cardioversion). This dull pain, which is not overbearing at all, has evolved into more of a localized pain in which I can recreate by swallowing large amounts of water/food or if I burp in a certain fashion(oddly enough). The pain seems to occur around the left pectoral close to sternum; however, I have found it to be directly under the sternum frequently.

My question to all of you asthma experts is, do I sound symptomatic of asthma?!

Thanks to all who reply,

-Pat

hi, sorry to hear you not been well.
I have had asthma since i was little and these symptoms arent familiar to me.
Seeing as you have localised pain and nothing in particular is causing symptoms, I really recommend you get checked out by the doc.
hope someone else has more useful info than me sorry!
But i do hope you feel better soon
kind regarRAB xx

Hi Pat,

I do agree that if you have not already seen a doctor, you should do so immediately. I am asthmatic and I find that if I do not use dairy products, the mucus problem is greatly minimized or vanishes. You could also be allergic to something in your environment. Maybe a good air purifier would do a lot to relieve your distress. But I would like to reiterate that you should get properly diagnose first. Let me know how you are doing. I would like to know that you have found some relief. I will pray for you.

Hey guys,

Let me first start off by saying thanks for the responses! I should have mentioned that it does get more "tight" after exertion. I have been to a doctor(a GP and a cardiologist) and they keep prescribing me antaciRAB which seem to have no effect. I will be going back in a little less then two weeks.

In terms of the chest pain, it feels somewhat muscular. The dull chest pain that I used to get had a unique feeling, but this pain seems a like a pulled muscle in my chest but not quite exactly like that at the same rate.

I, personally, think that my lung issues might have been caused from the electric cardioversion(when they shock the heart). I say that because I think it might have possibly pumped water into my lungs and maybe caused an infection? This is all speculative, but I seriously doubt anything cancerous.

Hi
I am glad you are on line. Have you been to a doctor who deals with alternative treatments. There many MRAB who do. Let me know.

google chest wall pain. Doctors can usually tell if it is chest wall pain from an examination.
