I am 29 years old and i have decided to go back to school to study nusing.?

I am looking to enter in to a nursing program as soon as possible. I am just very confused as to which way to go. I know you can become an RN after an associates degree, but there are also BSN programs that you can also become an RN after completing as well. What are the differences in the programs, and which one is better in the long run? Which one would you have more career options with? I am not concerned with how much time it will take to complete( I obviously know the BSN will take longer). I just want to know which will open more doors for me in the nursing world. My ultimate goal is to become a pediatric nurse, so any advice on how to get thete, degree wise, will be helpful.
