...parents? I am 17 yrs old and I am a female I am still in highschool and I am aware that I need a diploma to join the army. To me it is a great honor to fight or my countrys freedom even when I was about 8 years of age it was my dream to join the army, it could be cause of my dreadful past. Well I know for a fact that my parents will not let me start training for it cause they did not let my older brother. And if they did I am afraid of telling them and hurting them. How do I break it to them that I found my calling?
 
You seem like a great person. =]

Just tell them what you've told everyone here, that you want to fight for the country because you feel it as an honor.
Tell them you get a college fund, that will calm them down.

I'm 15 and plan to go in the army someday when I graduate.
