I am 16 years old soon to be 17 and I have long blonde hair. Over the past few months I have noticed that I tend to fiddle with my hair when I am not doing anything which is quite often. Most of the time I end up pulling strands of my hair out which yes is painful but I just keep doing it. I also tend to do this when I am brushing my hair, I used to have layers but grew them out and now my hair is quite thick which means that it gets knotty a lot and when I try to get the knots out I usually just tug my brush until it comes loose and usually a lot of strands come out with it too. Last week I was trying to undo a knot at the back of my head but found that there was a bald patch there the size of a ping pong ball :S I try not to fiddle with my hair and pull it out but sometimes as my mum says I don't know i'm doing it which I find strange because I have never experienced this sort of thing growing up. I have heard that there is a disorder for people who do this? if that is so then what is it called and I shall try and do more research about it
