I adopted a dog yesterday.....?

I got her yesterday from a family who said their other dogs use to fight her/bully her. I don't have any toys as yet. but when i give her a ball, she doesn't seem interested. I'm going to school soon and my mom is going to the hosp, so i don't know how shes going to act. My mom will be like 2 hours. Is this too long? Also, they fed her on this thing called webbox at night and dry biscuits in the morning, i can feel her ribs :/ i'm definately changing her diet! Any tips on what will be best for her please. I love her so much already, she's so protective! My mom is scared of her though, i don't know why, but i am afraid to leave her, as i don't want her to cry and/or bark. Thank you!
